Creating windows of freedom, entering another world, it is possible.... Painting is a magnificent tool.

When I enter my studio, I am in a different state, close to meditation, in order to open the field of possibilities. This is the greatest difficulty.

Energy, by definition, needs to express itself, to come out and thus reveal itself first to oneself and then to others. I'm not trying to do a sort of Jackson Pollock, although I love that painter, but I love Cy Twombly even more. But also Antoni Tapiès and many others.

She’s not into the huge, although it can be big. She doesn’t do violent things, although it can be strong. After seeing a film about the surrealist Hans Bellmer during his architectural studies, the artist Elisabeth Laplante embarked on a very personal pictorial work in which bodies are always present. In order to share the tactile sensations of pleasure, even in her works that seem the most abstract, she uses and experiments with all kinds of media on canvas, paper or wood. She wants to transmit all the voluptuousness and softness, tenderness or other moods that the skin expresses, its favourite theme and its corollary, touch. His main argument is the subtlety, which is perceived in his art, sometimes minimal, sometimes expressionist, and always with a lot of energy.

Taking time is an important element in the discovery of his works. These are revealed at first sight. With the details, they then appear in other aspects, other sensations, other readings. They thus take on all their dimensions and all their meaning. His beloved artists are Bonnard Stone, Antonio Tapiès, Cy Twombly and Joan Mitchell in their finesse and lightness. They inspire him for all the many works yet to come.
