Oil on the theme "urban landscapes" this painting was executed in a dynamic and spontaneous style. Translating an impressionist vision of market street in San Francisco melted in a saturated light, this work by its modernism will fit perfectly with a contemporary decoration.

A keen observer of nature, Philippe Perennou begins his paintings by working on the motif and patterns and then gradually extract himself from it. From that a plethora of themes are revealed such as urban landscapes, urban and harbor designs, seascapes, Venice...

Behind the use of various techniques, his touch begins to reveal itself little by little and is particularly expressive, even leaning towards abstraction.

Plein Air painting

Born in Quiberon in 1958, Philippe Perennou is a great observer of nature. He is particularly drawn to painting, more specifically by watercolors for distinct patterns.

Enriched by the lessons this technique bestowed upon him, in 1986, he decided to devote himself entirely to what had become his true passion and to join the Artists-Auteurs regime.

An energetic touch bordering on abstraction

Philippe Perennou uses mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor or pastel, for their unique characteristics and specificities. Combined with the different techniques, the themes of these canvases allow for infinite creative possibilities, thus avoiding the risque of repetition.

"My style is figurative, with however a constant will of abstraction, by juxtaposing the precision of a line with the blur of a brush stroke. Thus faded in places, the subject matter, although always present, leaves room for interpretation. My paintings are testimonies of impressions and feelings, capturing the fleeting moments in our daily lives that inevitably link us to our environment."
