Hélène Courtois-Redouté was born in 1963 in Metz. She graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Nancy in 1987, then worked in the Ile-de-France region, in communication agencies as a graphic designer/illustrator before setting up her own business. She started working in oil in 2010 and has been working in the oil business ever since. Her work as a painter is growing: landscapes, trees, still lives, nudes, portraits. She lives and works since 2014 between Paris and Dinan (22).
"Classical painter, my approach is moving away from a certain academism to turn to more expressionism. Nature is my favorite subject: trees, undergrowth, branches that intermingle, but also seaside ... as well as silent natures and some portraits and nudes. Light is also my subject, since always. I work in oil painting on canvas, which is a support and a medium of quality. It is important indeed that the painting itself is beautiful and "noble" in matter and touch . There is something sensual in oil painting that is certainly not found in other mediums. A painting is not only an image, it is also a beautiful object." Hélène Courtois-Redouté
