Nathalie Si Pié’s pictorial journey began with abstraction. Her expertise is demonstrated in a personal style that echoes the pixels found on our screens.
An approach in pixels
Si Pié brings out the delicacy of her artwork using “pixelated” strokes. Through a contemporary perspective she examines visual perception: the image appears only once we take a step back.
In a very colourful dynamic, she has painted pixel portraits, and paintings entitled “Miroirs” (Mirrors). Playing with reflections, these combine the abstraction of pixels with the figuration of characters.
Exploring perception
Nathalie Si Pié is able to tackle a huge variety of themes thanks to her mastery of many very different techniques. For her series “Pixels flowers”, she revisited the traditional conception of a flower, modernising it with her own unique style.
In an altogether different process she produces large portraits entitled “The Same Other”. Assembling the faces of various individuals as one, she examines the borders of identity in vastly profound artworks.
