Eric Herrmann

Eric Herrmann born in 1971 is a self -taught painter who lives and works in Schiltigheim (near Strasbourg). He regularly exhibits in France and abroad since 2006. Nature has always been at the center of his work, as a pretext to be able to explore the lights, the texture of the air ... These landscapes are in fact atmospheres where the Timeless, mystery and light are the main actors. Nature is stripped of it, silent, devoid of any artifice ... The moment can also be dawn like dusk, the beginning as the end of something. Here the human is present there only by his gaze drawn within him by the light inviting him to walk there, to get lost, to dream there ... Recently, the work of Eric Herrmann is oriented towards A criticism of our society and its impact on our environment such as the series of "& nbsp; impressions & nbsp;" where nature is "& nbsp; striated & nbsp;" Horizontal or vertical lines like so many alterations due to technology. This puts a distance between the spectator and the landscape which becomes an image. The polaroids are also a distance from the landscape by the photo. Like people who walk around only see nature by the prism of the apparatus and no longer by odor, light, warmth, sound sensations. These "& nbsp; Polas & nbsp;" are a way of polarizing attention to this deviance. The treatment of these polaroids gives them an appearance of an old nostalgic photo of an era when when we walked the only images brought back were memories and sensations.
