Anne Baudequin lives and works in Auvergne in the centre of France. From her studio overlooking the mountains, she paints the majestic, volcano-sculpted landscape every day.
Each landscape is painted "alla prima" in a single session. This enables her to really grasp the atmosphere, and the fleeting, passing effects of the sunlight. She paints quickly with energetic, spontaneous strokes that give her paintings a sensation of movement.
Peace and contemplation in natural light
Through the moments that she captures, Anne Baudequin hopes to transmit the unchanging and timeless nature of these landscapes. Despite being a landscape artist, she frequently returns to the intimacy of still life. The peaceful nature of the relationship it creates with the subject feeds her concentration.
