I am originally from Burgundy, near Dijon, I was born in 1967. I have been living in Alsace, near Strasbourg since 1986. My favourite technique is dry pastel. My themes are always figurative and I mainly approach the landscape which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration with a particular focus on the skies. I like to work with dry pastel for its volatile matter, its fragility, its constraints and the richness of its colours. I build my image gradually by touches of color, I juxtapose the colors between them, superimpose them, I like to leave the trace of the tool on the support as well as its material. I like to bring depth, intensity, contrast, lightness in color. I usually work quite quickly, because I don’t like to dwell too much on an image to avoid freezing it, damaging it and the dry pastel doesn’t allow it. Speed of execution is synonymous with energy, accuracy and sensitivity in the final result. The dry pastel is similar to both painting and drawing, a complementary duo. I like to offer my own vision and interpretation of places that I like or have liked.
