Watercolour, ink, pencil, oil painting, and acrylic, Frédéric Belaubre does it all and, most importantly, masters it all! The subjects of his pieces range from nudes to deeply poetic abstracts, always using bright, soft and pastel colours. They are charged with his incredible lyrical expression and his perspective on the world around him.
Work steeped in emotion
As an accomplished painter, Belaubre considers painting to be an act of understanding and a search for fulfilment. Evening lessons in drawing and composition, and his time at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris in 1974 gave the artist the resources and engagement he needed to take an emotional approach to his art.
The world as an infinite canvas
Emotions – both stress and joy – the feeling of finiteness and the pleasure of eternal moments – when life flows smoothly, these are the true sources on which Frédéric Belaubre draws for his creations – ceaselessly repeating attempts to transfigure reality into a reality beyond light.
