Alain Rolland is a self-taught artist who has been painting for over forty years. His pictorial style, imbued with the touch of Edward Hopper, is defined by his work on the colourful effects of light which feature mostly feminine subjects.
His artistic career: from advertising to painting
As a painter illustrator specializing in Hyperrealism, his professional career led him to paint in the world advertising for several years. After having created numerous animal illustrations, he honed his skills to the painting of mountain panoramas for winter sports resorts.
Today, Alain Rolland lives and works in the south of France. His works are exhibited at the "O" Gallery in Evian-Les-Bains.
His source of inspiration: Edward Hopper
By devoting himself exclusively to painting, he has the opportunity to put his many years of experience to good use thanks to the freedom he has found painting each canvas! Inspired by the work of Edward Hopper, he developed a style centred around light. He focuses mainly on female subjects to be able to paint the reflection of light on bodies and fabrics in a colourful ambience.
