"This painting of the Seine sur Paris is a diptych. It was not photographed as such because the photographer was mistaken, so here we are talking about the montage of two photos taken separately, the result is actually more homogeneous. For me, this painting was about transcribing one of my first memories, whose scents of the water, its brackish colour, the undulating waves due to the many passages of the barges, are engraved in my memory.
In this autobiographical series, I used a system of transparent motifs that are valid as autonomous plastic motifs as well as markers of an impeded figuration or a disturbed/filtered/unplayed or rearranged vision/perception. As I work on images, photography among other things, I like to thwart this image like a game. The Postcards of Memory is a series of 16 canvases retracing the memories left by different places of habitation." - Christelle Zacchero
