Landscapes, still lifes and nudes: these are the themes dear to Brigitte Di Scala. Without prior photographic support, she wants to immerse us in a dreamlike realm that allows her to translate her emotions on canvas and share them with the world.
Her purpose: to be a painter
Born in 1959, the artist Brigitte Di Scala trained for a year in the studio of painter K. Rezvanian, then turned to the Institute of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg where she studied for 3 years. Today, she lives and works in Mundolsheim near Strasbourg. Being a painter for Brigitte Di Scala was the obvious choice. Like most children, she drew; the difference with Brigitte was that she never stopped.
As she likes to say, "at the beginning, yes, there is a third of talent, then a third of work, but the most important is the remaining third - love“. For about thirty years now, she has been exhibiting her paintings in France and abroad, winning numerous awards and benefits from a Drouot rating.
The impressionist way
Brigitte Di Scala draws her inspiration from everywhere - mainly from nature, from her childhood memories, from the face of a person that tells a story. The wild flowers that she paints tirelessly in a very personal style, ispired by impressionism, symbolize a sense of freedom and joy of living.
