ARTISTICAL COMPETITION - I am in Metz in 1985. During my childhood, I draw and paint during my spare time, but it is only in 2008 that painting becomes obvious to me. At that time I settled in Paris, I started oil painting as a self-taught artist, with books on Picasso, Dali, Delaunay... What a freedom to be able to express myself without constraint on a canvas, to realize what goes through my head. In 2009, I registered for the "Oh les Beaux jours" workshop in Paris. For 8 years I followed the teaching of the painter Claire Arnal, while doing live model workshops with the sensualist painter Jean-Yves Guionet. It is during this period that I discovered sensual expressionist painting. I have made 3 exhibitions, in 2018 at the Galerie Le puffin in Paris, in 2015, a group exhibition at the Oh les beaux jours studio and in 2013 at the Art’O gallery in Aubervilliers. - ARTISTIC APPROACH A painting is for me, an endless adventure, a face-to-face encounter with oneself, a kind of film of which there would only be one image left. The resulting web is only a simple summary of this complex story. My paintings are inspired by "sensual expressionist painting", i. e. experience through the senses and not through knowledge, and are based on a search for the sensitive and the material. It is not a reflective or intellectual painting, but a physical painting in motion. I try to put emotion at the centre of the research rather than representation. When I paint, I try to bring the canvas to life through the vibration of movement and light. My canvases are built with an accumulation of signs, traces, materials deposited in movement on the canvas that produce a certain disorder. - "From chaos are born the stars". It is the background that rises to the surface, and gives shape to the canvas. The canvas guides me and not the other way around, the main difficulty in this process is to accept to let go and enter fully into creation, without knowing where it will lead me. The path that leads to the realization of my canvases is for me almost more important than the purpose of the canvas itself. "If you know exactly what you’re going to do, what’s the point of doing it? "Pablo Picasso My painting has something introspective about it. Creation places me in front of myself, it is the mirror of my questioning on man in front of his emotions and his sensitivity but it is also guided by the love and joy that crosses me. These are the energies that will be deposited on the canvas during the creative process and give birth to a painting. I paint, so I get to know myself.
