Born in 1968, Florence Laurent is a French painter living near Montpellier. Drawing and painting have always been his passion.
Florence Laurent does not seek to be part of a real artistic movement, but simply to express a feeling, an emotion. His language is color above all else. Tones close to those of the Montpellier scrubland where she likes to walk, never garish, always worked in softness and subtlety. Coloured greys in harmony with the earth colours. His compositions are detached from all reality, it is his universe and his feeling of the world. We can compare them to a logbook that retraces moments of emotion in the face of life's mystery.

Florence Laurent likes above all to play with the infinite magic of the mixture of colours and their chords, mainly with acrylic. She does not prevent herself from mixing acrylic with other techniques such as dry pastel for its powdered effect or even Indian ink and charcoal for the graphics. It uses different supports: paper, cardboard, canvas, wood, each with its own qualities. For some works she chooses a narrow palette of broken tones, but can also make intense colours vibrate, it's all a question of state of mind at the beginning of the work. She likes to use the many effects that acrylic allows: impasto, sgraffito, projections, knife work, brush work, finger work, glazing... with great freedom.
