This oil on canvas has been largely done on the motif with a brush and knife. It was awarded the grand prize at the Biennale de Fos sur mer in 1997 (of which I was the guest of honour 2 years later). Irradiated by the sun's rays, the calm of the water offers a mirror effect where the painters saw the blue of the sky, the birds and the fishermen's houses reflected. This place has fascinated many painters like Delacroix, Corot, Loubon, Ziem or Dufy since the end of the 19th century.
