I’m not a professional, just a passionate person. Painting allows me to escape from this world, which is brutal and sad to say the least, and to touch a few souls. To allow others to escape for a few moments in a woman’s arching or in a look.
I like to paint women, and I work in oil.
My model is Edward Hopper. My objective in my paintings, beyond visual harmony, is that everyone finds a story... It’s not always simple, but the "just beautiful", like a landscape, bores me, to do, but also to look at... I admire Yves Klein who manages to captivate his audience with a large blue canvas, but that’s clearly not what I’m looking for. On the other hand, for example, in front of Hopper’s painting "Nighthawk" (his most famous work), the whole thing immediately touches, and we discover all the details. We come to this woman in red: why is she here? Does she know the man by her side? Are they in a relationship? Is she dreamy or sad? Anyway, we dive in!
That’s what I’m looking for, or at least I’m trying.... Enjoy your visit!
