Aura’s painting flirts with photography, cinema and the imagination, the latter remaining the main field. She draws inspiration from existing elements mixed with dreams and feelings to invent stories. The magical realism passes through Aura’s work by creating unexpected, suspenseful, painted enigmas. There is no physical orientation or weight in the painting, only the immaterial presence of a moment.
Aura develops stories from the landscapes, shows seen, emotions felt in her travels. Sometimes solitary, faceless characters appear in laconically painted spaces - as in dreams. The fuzzy appearance of characters, landscapes and places are like stories seen and partially kept in memory. Aura’s works certainly have autobiographical elements because for her painting is the best technique for communication.
