In the foreground, one can see ruffles (red rocks characteristic of the region) dotted with sparse Mediterranean vegetation and prickly pears. On the other side of the lake is the Sure (a small triangular-shaped hill) with higher mountains in the background. This 'exotic' place has been the setting for many films.
This oil on linen canvas was made in the studio from sketches and watercolours made on the pattern between the village of Celles and the hamlet of Vailhès.
This oil is framed by an American box and ready to hang.
