Lights, spaces, reflections stimulate Nicole Bellocq’s creation in landscapes, scenes of characters that she translates figuratively by a touch removed from the knife, or smoothed with a brush. From childhood she drew, as a teenager she learned painting techniques through the ABC school, discovered engraving through a copperplate printer, and devoted many years to aquatinting in her studio at the foot of the mountains. According to her emotion she declines landscapes, scenes of characters, series of flowers sometimes in oil, watercolor, etchings. In 2013 she returned to her native region near the ocean in the Landes, where she let herself be influenced by the movement of the sea and its atmospheres.
