Jean Christophe Tramblay was born in 1964 in Rueil-Malmaison. He started taking drawing and painting classes at the age of 12 and specialised in oil painting techniques by copying masters such as Bruegel, Guardi, Géricault, Lautrec...
Revealing a passion for color, he continued his studies at the Beaux-Arts de Versailles at age 1 for 3 years and then at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Rouen (3 years).
He works in the same studio with a group of figurative painters, asserting his colours through expressionism.
After 25 years of prestigious projects as a decorative painter (Jacques Garcia, Hôtel Plazza Athénée, Le Bristol, Restaurant Lasserre, Hôtel de Crillon (Karl Lagerfeld suite) with fellow decorative painters, he lives in Bordeaux and devotes himself to expressionist/abstract painting.
The artist's approach is the union of nature with the intensity and balance of color for the spirit that the hand composes. Depending on the painting, these are painted quickly or over several months, knowing that the painting sometimes takes control of the hand and mind of the artist to establish a perfect harmony like classical music.
His compositions inspired by nature are translated by successive layers ranging from ink to gouache and finished with oil paint.
