This oil on canvas represents the Abbey of Gellone.
It is a treasure of Languedoc Romanesque art, it was founded more than a thousand years ago in the heart of the Gorges de l'Hérault.
The village of Saint-Guilhem le Désert grew up around it and owes its fame to it.
This small oil painting was done on location in the spring of 2009.
It was used as a study for the realization of a larger oil painting (Saint-Guilhem le Désert 2, also for sale on KAZoART).
It is framed in an American box, with a certificate of authenticity and ready to hang.

JN Le Juneter was born in 1952 and received a Master of Arts from the Clermont-Ferrand University in 1973.

After receiving his teaching certificate in and serving in the army, he became a professional painter in 2000 and has been a member of the 'Maison des Artistes' ever since. Le Junter has received numerous prizes and been exhibited in eighteen galleries in France and abroad between 2000 and 2019. He lives and works in the South of France.

A bit about his work: ''[...] In landscapes, seascapes , portraits and nudes he always starts on location or with live models making sketches and watercolours which will then enable him to work in his studio.
