A passion, but also a vocation, Anne du Planty has been painting since she was very young. Always with brushes in hand and a gift already affirmed for the harmony of colors.
She was introduced to the laws of perspective during her secondary education and perfected her training first at the Art Deco school in Belgium, then at the Roubaix School of Fine Arts. A training sanctioned, in the years 1970, by a diploma of interior architect. But it is through her personal work that the artist will assert her approach.
Originally from the North, she discovered the lights of the South, the brightness of the sun, the shadows of the alleys, while traveling. Every summer, she travels through the south of France, Spain, but especially Italy, seduced by the architectural elegance of the cities and villages, walking through the streets and alleys, immersing herself in the daily life between shaded squares and drowsy quays at the warm hours of the day. Images taken on the spot in Venice, Florence, Naples...etc. fill his travel diaries. Stays in Cuba, India and South-East Asia have recently filled her travel diary and given birth to sensitive works of art with an authentic atmosphere. So many colorful, warm and lively memories that the artist feeds her work.
Once back in Paris, Anne du Planty sets to work in her light-filled rooftop studio. Aldo, an attentive Persian cat, keeps her company and no matter if the sky gets dull, her line is sure, her colors shimmering. The pleasure resurfaces, intact, and she communicates it to her painting. The air blazes, the colors vibrate, barcarolles dance on the lagoon, shutters close, bistros come alive.
The critics were not mistaken. "She paints Italy superbly, bringing the sun's rays into the smallest corners of the old cities. Her paintings dance like the colors. They bring the joy of living, a certain radiance. They are optimistic works", "A unique theme but always repeated. A choice of colors that warms the heart. Anne du Planty displays a love of life that shines in her paintings.
