Isis Bi was born in Paris in 1955 and then lived in Lille for the next forty years, where in 1974 she attended the first quarter of the Fine Arts of Lille. She now lives and works in Charente Maritime. Self-taught, she has always devoted herself to painting and returned to sculpture in 2002. A psychoanalyst would certainly find food for thought in Isis Bi’s expressive, naughty, physical work. It is difficult to resist the temptation to touch his sculptures, as their titles seem to invite the curious (see the well named series of "caressing sculptures"). The bright, sparkling, sweet colours add to this desired closeness with the spectator, to whom she wishes above all to convey her joy and hopes. His paintings, often abstract, reveal a wider range of emotions, but they too are marked by a childish naivety, both charming and intriguing.
