This photograph was taken in the summer in the charming port of Douarnenez in Brittany (Finistère).

On the municipal shipyard, this large iron panel was originally plain, but it has been transformed into a work of art looking like a wheat field thanks to the rust scratches that have totally modified its aspect!

Cathy Bion travels the world's ports, from Morocco to Brittany, from Portugal to Normandy, from Australia to Mexico, far from the beaten track.

Without retouching or cropping, her photographic approach is abstract, close to painting. In the docks flooded with light, his painter's eye tracks colors and materials, the traces of Man's work in interference with that of time and the elements, in an attempt to capture the essence of this secret alchemy.

Her photographs recreate imaginary landscapes, small fragments of colored life that she invites to share in order to cast off towards a free voyage. Her research focuses on the memory of ports, these places imbued with poetry whose number declines over time.

"Couleurs d'alizés", the monographic work that includes her port calls, was published at the end of 2010 by Critères Editions. Her photographs are accompanied by texts of art critics and by a graphic preface by the artist Loustal.

She exhibits her creations in France and abroad (Japan, Morocco, Mexico, USA, Australia, Korea, Hong Kong). The French press (Beaux-Arts Magazine, Officiel des Galeries et Musées, Paris Capitale, Réponses Photo, Libération, Le Télégramme, Ouest-France, Voiles et voiliers?
