Beyond a simple documentary or adventurous interest, I especially like the presentation and history of abandoned places. Through the play of light I try to highlight the ageing materials, perspectives and architectural structures so that they can be magnified again. The silence, omnipresent, seems to correspond to a time that would have remained silent and emanated an enigmatic atmosphere, questioning the spectator about the past life and the spirit of these places.
I am particularly fond of places of entertainment, institutional buildings dedicated to education or care but also those places of life that once made the reputation of their owners... To
visit these places often offers a whole range of emotions: first of all fear when approaching the building, excitement when discovering it and impatience at each door pushed.
Little by little, a soft melancholy also settles in when reality takes over, we imagine the noisy places of life.
But the buildings are suffering, abandoned for reasons that often go beyond us, it is sadness that overwhelms you to see these architectural remains disappear, and
I hope that through my photographs you will be able to live and feel all the pleasure I had in immortalizing them.
