Eric Ouaknine is an international fashion photographer based in Paris and originally from the south of France. He showed a particular interest for pictorial art and in particular drawing from a very young age by developing a universe inspired by apocalyptic, fantastic and avant-garde fictions of the 1980s such as Mad-Max, Terminator, Blade Runner etc. Coming from a passionate family of art collectors, his father painted for fun and took him to the museums of Florence and Paris. He was amazed by the great works of the Renaissance, Baroque and Gothic architecture, it is something that marked him forever.
After studying nursing, he became passionate about landscape, still life and portrait photography. He made a radical change of direction and created a modeling school in 2001, where he carried out numerous photo tests and made his first steps into the fashion world.
Completely self-taught, he carried out his first advertising campaign for a prestigious brand in 2003. In 2004 he moved to Paris with the ambition of becoming an international fashion photographer and specializing in Haute Couture and luxury accessories. From then on, he has worked with famous brands, done editorials for the press, made trips to Milan and New York and collaborates in parallel with promising young fashion designers.
He organised his first photographic exhibition in 2008. Entitled "DESTINY", it is a series of artistic portraits featuring original jewellry. This event was a major success with the general public. Then in 2009 he worked on a series of futuristic portraits entitled "GIRLZ OF Z FUTURE" that he exhibited in the restaurant of the Louvre. In 2011, he was sponsored by Maître Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr to exhibit "L’ÉTERNEL FÉMININ" in the abutment of the Alexandre III bridge. "VIRGIN SUICIDE" which was launched in 2017 is the artist’s fourth exhibition. This series of powerful portraits was created in partnership with the talented make-up artist Christelle Minbourg.
