Yvon Grevillot grew up in a small village at the foot of the Vosges mountains and developed an interest in images during his audiovisual studies. At 20, he left the countryside to live and work in Paris.
"I naturally turned to photography. Everything inspires me, everything is subject to composition, architecture and its geometric lines, stations and the unceasing comings and goings of passers-by, Man, Nature, reflections, light, especially light. Through my images, I hope to provoke emotions and reveal a part of my sensitivity, of my universe.
"Everything we see, we must always see it for the first time, because it’s really the first time we see it." This quote from the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa makes us aware that the world around us is not frozen, that the streets we walk through every day and the distant landscapes change every moment.
