Sébastien Durand is a photographer based in the Paris region. He regularly frequents the metro, a parallel world in which he naturally took his first shots and began his apprenticeship as a self-taught photographer.
The unexpected encounter oriented his work towards street photography. A place as a finalist at the SPi (Street Photography International) Awards in 2018 encouraged him to continue and deepen his work. He will receive several other awards (finalist at The Independent Photographer, Urban Photo Awards 2018 and 2019, Xposure...) and several of his photographs exhibited or published.
Today, Sébastien Durand regularly works on the street or in the subway, looking for what the street says about us and our society in the middle of the crowd and the urban environment. It develops two themes, one in black and white dedicated to life in the Parisian metro and a second in colour offering a more ironic or amused vision.
