Originally from the Basque coast, Jean-Louis Corpron lives in the south-west of France where he divides his time between literary translation and photography.
The switchover to digital a few years ago opened up new perspectives, allowing him to steer his work in hitherto unexplored directions. The shots, which for him resemble a gathering, are always taken at random from encounters with subjects that challenge him.
Impressionism, graphic design and minimalism are the terms that best describe images whose raison d'être is the search for the aesthetics of the moment. The result is works with pure lines, often geometric constructions, but in which the human being is never truly absent.
