Freelance photographer for 15 years, Stevan Lebras' most personal works oscillate between photography and painting. He is interested in what doesn't seem interesting at first sight, in what disturbs the eye, without knowing why, in what the weather is deteriorating or not.
Its approach is a form of permanent adaptation to an ecosystem, that of the city, of the urban in its most basic, everyday aspects. This space that our retinas absorb by looking away. This aspect that one would like not to know, the marvellous. The trace, the experienced, the hazardous. The meetings, the sharing and the times. The unique and yet universal. Numbers, natural erasures, "semi-abstractions", collages.
An "abstract", "distracted" photographer's work, which tells stories, freely. His work is based on his vision of beauty and questions it just as he questions art and our freedom.
