Aurélien Bigot is a photographer and artistic director specializing in artistic and technical innovations. He developed the flash-painting technique in 2014. Flash-painting is a pictorial technique merging painting and photography, without any digital retouching. The photograph is taken through a transparent surface painted by the artist's hand. The light of the subject nestles in the texture, giving the illusion of a painting. The result is raw, visually unique, at the crossroads of figurative and abstract. The spectator is led to doubt, to wonder whether or not it is a painting. And finally obtains this revelation: it is indeed a photograph, perfectly organic, without any digital retouching. The first exhibition using the flash-painting technique is "La Mythologie", produced in collaboration with the photographer Richard Forestier. It is a series of unique photographs, infused with influences from the 18th and 19th century chiaroscuro paintings of Caravaggio or Rembrandt, where moving bodies, ancient drapes, and mythological symbolism are revealed. The exhibition was presented in several galleries in Paris and Bordeaux, relayed in media such as Fubiz, Bored Panda or Designer Daily, and unique prints were auctioned at the prestigious Maison Rossini in Paris Drouot. Today, limited editions are available for sale on KAZoART.
