Biography 47 years old, I am above all an amateur animal photographer. For 6 years, I have been part of the Bios Photo agency. I have a very artistic approach in animal photography. The important thing is the image, with all that it can have in terms of aesthetics and graphics. I don’t look for the naturalist’s perspective, but I always photograph with respect for the animal and its environment. Completely uncomplicated, I photograph all animals, those in the wild, but also animals that are in the park or domestic. I have just been published in the NiepceBook N°09 which I will cover. My first contact with the world of photography was, in the third grade, simple experiments, by lighting opaque objects on photo paper and then developing. White "shadows" were obtained on a black background. My passion for silver chemistry began, and quite naturally, I started photography. Although I totally abandoned film in 2000. I became passionate only late in life about animal photography. And I wanted to find a look at different animals where only the animal matters. In love with high contrast black and white, it was in front of a portrait of Andrzej DRAGAN that I had the idea of this treatment on animals, in today’s world the natural spaces left to animals are increasingly restricted. Little by little, Man nibbles at their places of life, takes over their hunting and breeding territories. Through my animal pictures I propose my vision of this situation. The black background symbolizes the end of the habitats, leaving only the animal alone in front of this void. However, it is an ecological proposal: the animal, in all its beauty, must keep its place. Finally, timeless black and white leaves a possibility of openness and why not a happy future. The hope that the animal will adapt and that humans will become aware of its importance, an observation that I try to magnify by my artistic approach in black backgrounds that underline the eternal struggle between the essential and the insignificant, and reminds us how futile it is to want to see something else by adding decorum... A work that confirms how good it is to erase the superfluous to leave only the obvious!
