The frigate France I has been classified as a historic monument since 24 February 2004. This ship, having served as a meteorological ship, is the flagship of the Maritime Museum of La Rochelle, where it has been exhibited since 1988, and of which it is the first acquisition. Launched in 1958, France I, stationed at geostationary point R (or Romeo, 47°N-17°W), ensured Météo-France’s commitments for world weather monitoring at sea until 1985. This photograph is a digital photograph whose processing is inspired by ancient photographic processes. The shooting technique makes it possible to suggest a pictorial dimension. Digital shooting as part of the LR series. Printing on "Fine Art" type paper. Signed by the author and numbered.

Stanislas Ledoux was born in Nantes in 1985 and very quickly had his eye in the right place. In 2006, he was selected for a group exhibition at the Musée d’Aquitaine and continued his studies in communication and advertising strategy in Bordeaux before obtaining his diploma in 2008. The following year, Studio Blain in Rochefort offered him his first solo exhibition, but it was in 2011 that he decided to make photography his profession, while continuing to develop his photographic writing. In 2014, he completed a professional training at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles.

He is now based in Bordeaux where he offers his photography services in the fields of Architecture, Professional Portrait and Reproduction of Works of Art. At the same time, influenced by photographers Hiroshi Sugimoto, Vee Speers, Ansel Adams, Erwin Olaf, Maurice Tabard, he continued his personal work.

"I am sensitive to light of course but also to weak times, to dreamlike touches. I try to reveal the part of the sacred that resides in the places or people in my photographs. I usually work in the form of photographic series. The latter group together a corpus of images that have undergone the same influences, related to the same intentions. "
