JYK - Jean-Yves Kervévan

After having been a student in the workshop of the sculptor Georges Nadal, Jean-Yves Kervévan studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, in the workshop of the sculptor Georges Jeanclos.
He then produced portraits for the press, covers of novels for multiple French and foreign publishers (Hachette, I read, Denoël, Press Pocket, Shlüeck, Shannon Associates). He also sculpts Trophies and Collection Pieces for various sponsors (Atlas, Idyllis Éditions, Editions de Café, Ankama, Les Sculptors de Bulles).
In 2006, he made sets of the feature film "La Citadel Assiégée" by Philippe Calderon (Prix du Festival Jules Verne Aventure - Paris). At the same time, he worked without discontinuing personal research (drawing, painting, sculpture, photography) which were exhibited.
Photography has always been present and very important for Jean-Yves in the development of his various works. She has evolved in multiple ways, from her first shots of her characters and her sets modeled for illustration, until the current exploration of spaces, colors, shapes and lights within living matter.
"Shut on the approach of vibrating foliage trees in the wind, feel this nature constantly metamorphosis, say that this energy is palpable, perhaps even beyond appearances, believe it and seek these presences through realization Photographic. Discover the colors, the materials so singular and rich, the speech witnesses in the "flowering of the old walls", photographing these fossils deposited there by time and revealing these forgotten dumb. So, photography as a possible door Opening to let in a little contemplation on the mysteries, a little awakening to the whispers of the shadows in the light, like a touch of the gaze in the passage of discreet and benevolent ghosts ... photography as an attempt to caress the Living during a fleeting and infinite exposure time. " Jyk
