Passionate traveler, Jean-Philippe Lachot has visited over 43 countries with his camera. Over the years, photography has become one of his main reasons to travel. Having left with a simple disposable camera at his first departure, it is now with his backpack composed of cameras, lenses, filters, tripod, map and GPS that he discovers the world. He is above all passionate about tormented landscapes, powerful and heavy atmospheres, where the human presence is rare or even absent.
The essence of his work lies less in the shooting than in the processing of the image. His photographic approach is not so much to modify reality but to give a contemplative vision of the world around him, to translate his sensations and emotions.
His dreamlike and hypnotizing atmosphere takes the viewer into his own reflections. In addition to the photographic work, he also makes his own prints, laminates and makes the frame.
His work has been presented in various places such as the Salon Objectif Photo in Saulgé and Montmorillon, the Printemps de la Photographie in Romorantin and La Promenade Artistique in Molineuf.
"Each photo takes us by the hand of emotion. We do not enter the photo, it is the photo, the atmosphere it reflects that penetrates us." Rosseline 13/10/2020
