Anna Shumanskaia was born on May 31, 1974 in Piatigorks, Russia, into a family of teachers, artists and actors. The beauty of her region, surrounded by the Caucasus mountains, the paintings of her father and grandfather have bathed her childhood in an artistic atmosphere that influences her perception of life and her creation. After studying Linguistics in Russia, she studied at the "Photoplay" school in Moscow. In 2015 she moved to Paris, learned French and obtained the RNCP diploma after her studies at Spéos (Paris Photographic Institute). Since then she has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in France and Greece. In April 2018 she also published a book of photos, entitled "Un dress code personnalisé" in French and English ( registered at the BNF). In 2021 her second book "Portraits in Containment" - a project of 67 photo shoots, done in distance, will be released. Identity is one of her main values. She searches for it and expresses it through her photos.
