Berta Sesé is interested in the principle of correspondence between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, and in the Japanese principle of "wabi sabi", which consists in seeing in the imperfect, the modest, a form of beauty in motion, where the subject becomes another. His work brings us closer to the real world from the perception of its details embodied at a different scale, with a very intimate dimension, like a scientific fractal approach of our environment and its projections.

This micro-painting is a revelation of dreamlike landscapes at the edge of the perceptible. Painted on adhesive tape (a very wabi sabi support), this micro landscape makes us think of romantic landscapes and misty horizons, of a deep blue veiled with white tones. It invites us to dive into miniature details to find unexpected painted landscapes, to make us discover and feel the force of the infinitely big and the infinitely small which reigns in the cosmos to which we belong.

After studying fashion design in Barcelona, Berta Sesé, a Catalan artist, moved to Paris in 2002. She worked as a fashion designer and stylist for 12 years. Self-taught in photography, she studied Fine Arts with the Italian artist Alberto Cont in Paris, and since 2014 she has devoted herself entirely to it.
Represented in Japan by Gallery IND, near Osaka, she has been presenting a solo exhibition there every year since 2016.

The infinitely large and the infinitely small are part of the basis of Berta Sesé's work, she is interested in the hermetic principle of correspondence. Also inspired by the Japanese aesthetic and spiritual concept wabi-sabi, which consists of seeing beauty in imperfect, humble or impermanent things.
Her work alternates between painting and photography, and is an invitation to rediscover our environment, based on the freedom of spirit to appreciate the magic of our surroundings. Her poetic and pictorial universe is committed to nature, she is concerned about the uprooting of human beings from nature and our impact on the planet.

Her photographic work is based on the observation and perception of our daily habitat, Berta interprets priceless details, and shows us another profile of the real world concretized at a different scale.
Through a macro lens, the artist identifies the subject in a very intimate dimension, like a scientific fractal approach to our environment and its projections. The image is filled with emotion and the result is an abstraction of reality transformed into another element.
