Julien Lallouette, born in 1991, graduated from ESAHdAR in 2015 in Le Havre, France. Her work focuses on memory, remembrance and fixation.
"I mainly use silver cameras, on the one hand for fragility and expectation but also because it allows me to experiment.
I split my photos into two parts. The first is that of travel, between France and England via Holland, Belgium, Iceland or Cyprus I capture the landscapes and people I meet on film, in colour or black and white. The silver also brings an additional grain to the photography that makes these memories even more concrete. The second is focused on experimentation. I use the fact that the film is a physical medium to make it react with different liquids. The result is random and unpredictable, it can produce different reactions such as the appearance of new colours or elements on the photo, until sometimes destroying it completely, which reminds me of the effect that memory can have on our memories."
