Art teacher, visual artist and photographer, Lucie De Saint’s work is articulated around the gaze. The one you wear with yourself and the one you wear with others. She has adopted a very original technique: she paints portraits on transparent surfaces with acrylic paint. They are then superimposed on coated thick paper bottoms that are cut out and fitted together or portraits. In this way, she allows us to glimpse other, more expressionist portraits. The colours chosen are intentionally strong to suggest the strengths and weaknesses that are hidden in each of us. Fear, sadness, but also fighting spirit, energy, will... are thus represented. Capture the individual in his inner beauty as well as in his darker sides.
