Professional photographer and winner of the European Charles Ciccione Photography Prize 2015, Marie-Fa Lazzari explores black and white and colour. Graduated in Literature (Licence, Maîtrise et DEA) at the Paul Valéry Faculty of Montpellier, she was a teacher of Literature for several years. She followed a photographic and professional training at the Centre Jean Verdier in Paris. She exhibits her art photographs in galleries and salons in Paris throughout the year. The artist also turns to the world of theatre and carries out photographic work with professional theatre groups. His photographs are regularly published in exhibition catalogues, newspapers and magazines. A member of the Ipsos Photo Contest since 2007, she is listed on A as an Artist, the directory of the artistic world.
All his shots are silver. She makes her own limited edition prints on digigraphic baryta paper. She likes to mix writing with photography; she writes poems related to her images. She also creates her own artist books, which she signs and numbers.
Photography is for her the search for an authentic relationship with the world in which she is. By the way she can look at this world, she tries to get closer to what is essential to her: to remain capable of wonder and surprise. To photograph is to know how to abandon oneself to the moment in order to grasp all its poetry and remain welcoming to this unique and ephemeral magic of the photographic moment. It means feeling the need to give something new to see, beyond the perception we can have of reality and the world.
