(other formats on request) The image of the woman and her questioning is the central theme of Lucie De Saint's photographic and visual work. She photographs women as she meets them and encourages them to reveal themselves. Because behind each of these faces, carefully made up to meet the stereotypes of fashion, hides a story... theirs! In order to restore the full density of their story, Lucie De Saint works in several stages. After the shooting, she then intervenes plastically by successive layers of paint in the manner of states to break on the one hand the codes of beauty, but also to reveal the different levels of their story and to highlight the identity and the history of each of her models. She tries to exteriorize what they try to hide, their wounds, their struggles, their complexes, their doubts... their strengths! The final result is then photographed, cropped and printed on an art plexiglass. This material, through the play of transparencies and 3D, makes the effect of matter and strata palpable. Lucie De Saint offers a final work full of emotion and questions. To hide in order to say more; such is her leitmotiv!
