Julien Moulin, a native of Rennes, has been an artistic director for more than 20 years. A graduate of the École Estienne, he began his career in Paris and became independent in 2001. His job as a graphic designer leads him to travel and collaborate with agencies in New York, Shanghai, Washington, Taipei and Ljubljana. He has been living and working in Savoie since 2020. Inspired by Dadaist, Surrealist and Constructivism currents, he started to create collages in the 90's using different materials. With the advent of new technologies, he continues from the 2000s to create digital works and is solicited by various magazines and journals for illustration work. In 2017, he begins a new series of collages and starts exhibiting in galleries. "Terra Incognita" mixes map fragments, topographic and geological data. The graphic compositions accelerate tectonics and reconfigure continents to create new territories, new imaginary landscapes. Borders and geopolitics fade away and challenge assertions about space and time, echoing contemporary issues such as human conflicts and migrations, inviting contemplation and reflection for a less divided, more open world. The works are printed using the process of digigraphy. Each work is printed in a limited edition of three copies on smooth matt art paper with matt varnish : - 1 edition in 100X100cm numbered 1/1. - 2 prints in 50X50cm numbered 1/2 and 2/2.
