Zen Chang Tchao is a lyrical visionary with a lively writing and an authentic plastic language. His art is free from existing rules. His unconscious is expressed through a body language that seems to be punctuated by an inner vibration of great intensity. They are not randomly placed lines and spots of colour, but a "sensitive" arrangement of space, looking for much more balance than interest.
The artist seems to find his true dimension in the physical-psychic expression of the creative movement. These works reveal to us the calculated force of the gesture to put its fiery forms, its vibrant lines, entangled, overlapping in a common direction, gathering in places to burst further and finally dispersing on a generally monochrome background, thus translating a hectic inner universe. The multiplicity of these lines, which have become signs, which chant space, leads to a vibrant writing that is similar to calligraphy. Gestures, lyricism and signs characterize the works of Zen Chang Tchao.
