Frédéric Durieu works with his partner Nathalie Erin, they form a couple of artists who rely on writing algorithms to create works. Their paintings are freeze-frames that come to life with augmented reality. For they can also project and react with sound or movement. They have fun with the multi-facets of their software, entirely coded by Frederic as with a funny brush. The software is in itself a work of art...
The work of Frédéric Durieu & Nathalie Erin astonishes those who discover it and delights those who know it, as much by the diversity, the originality but especially by their unique and singular technique as well as their poetry, because they developed a method which makes it possible to create works of a new kind which characterizes them. Each painting is a freeze frame that reacts with the camera or the sound and thus tells a story or deals with a subject that is close to their hearts: Nature, Femininity, Humanity, Humor...
Each painting has a reason to be and to exist. Each of them contains several levels of vision, from near to far, inside, hidden treasures, personal interpretations. Recently, they use augmented reality to make us discover their works differently. An avant-garde vision! Their works are also available in the form of installations, giant frescoes or sets for live shows.
