Catherine Volk created silkscreens using the sketches she makes every day. As a student, she liked to draw nude models mainly, today she draws people around her in their daily lives. Dancers and actors are her favourite models. These sketches, taken from the living, form the basis of his creation. Her work is dynamic and fluid, showing both the movement of bodies and her own representation of daily life. She allows herself to interpret the drama of life within this dynamism. Catherine strives to keep the spontaneity of the sketches in her silkscreen prints. The "9th art" has always influenced his work, which leads him to present his impressions divided into sections or panels. During the exhibitions in which she participates, in France or England, her work will be presented in such a way that the viewer has the feeling of entering Catherine’s notebook and discovering her universe through the prints.
