Depending on what has inspired him, Philippe Buil creates metal sculptures and brings the work to life with additional materials like leather, 24-karat gold leaf, glass and wood. He most frequently creates busts but also works with animals and other subjects when the mood or desire takes him.
Intricate metalwork
Born in 1964, Philippe Buil began his career in the metals industry but soon decided to combine his three major passions in life: metal, sculpture and invention.
Modelling, designing and creating life
After several months of research, he developed a unique technique which he uses to create sculptures from a metal lace. His two materials of choice are bronze and steel. The lace is created by melting the metal drop by drop, guaranteeing that every piece is unique.
