Barna Gacsi was born in Hungary, in Törökszentmiklós in 1969 and has been sculpting since the age of 19. He studied at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Pécs, with Professor Bencsik, his teacher, among others.

"What we call ourselves is an opportunity to see the vibrations of the world, to observe our lived experiences. The work of art is an interesting projection of these wonders. I fill the statues with my experiences, with my lived feelings, so that I become empty, giving way to impressions, new impulses, like a kind of birth, a mystery of creation.

When a work of art is ready, I sit in front of it and wonder, I often wonder who is behind it. As if I were taking on the role of a mediator who would materialize the messages of the universe, often without understanding. In my opinion, experience is more important than understanding." Barna Gacsi
