This sculpture is an enigma, as its title suggests... Some saw a fish, a ray... We can also see a tree leaf, especially with this patina combining green and orange tones, absolutely unique, made by the artist on the inspiration of the moment ... What does she remind you of? A lot of movement and life, as in all the works of Gaël Rouxeville. It is a sculpture that is easy to place, both in size and aesthetics. On the desk or the bedside table? Well in view on the contemporary furniture of the living room? On the piano, maybe? This copy is an original work of art, which has just been melted down in 2019 under the control of the artist (BBC foundry, labelled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant; see the punches). The bronze is patinated and waxed and requires no maintenance. Exhibiting it outdoors is possible, knowing that it will cause a natural evolution of the patina.

Born in Brittany in 1970, Gaël Rouxeville began painting and drawing from a very young age. This visual artist reveals a work driven by the energy of movement that brings his sculptures to life.

A know-how enriched by a varied background

Before turning to sculpture in 1998, Gaël Rouxeville studied mechanical engineering and industrial design. Already passionate about woodhis activity as a sculptorcoupled with an eco-responsible approach has gradually led him to cabinet making. Energy through the movement of curves

Movement is a central element of Gaël Rouxeville's Work. His style is based on the "living curve". He interprets abstraction in his own way, the dance or the silhouette of animalsInspired by the dynamism of the forms, the artist presents sinuous worksbetween reality and dream.
