"Furins" is a series of surrealist suspended architectures. Composed like jewels, these hanging pieces are an invitation to dream and contemplate. These pieces are pieces to be suspended. Like the Japanese furins that sing in the wind. 9 cm in diameter x 11 cm high. Prussian blue patina. To highlight the piece and see the patina in all its integrity it must be exposed to daylight. Using the lost wax technique, the piece is entirely made by the artist. The modelling, the setting in cluster, the degrappage, the finishing and the patina.

Julie Balsaux is one of those people who only stand up for themselves because they keep moving forward, acting and inventing, and first and foremost their lives, every day, as if they were under the immediate threat of bottomless despair. Because they have to launch a paper plane against the absurdity of the world, and the world is heavy, it is always a question of tearing themselves off the ground, of creating the momentum of a jump that we would like to last infinitely long. So we are somewhere between the energy of the gesture and the slow movement of the clouds. Drawing, installation, writing, sound proposals, each piece is an attempt to talk about the world while escaping it. Each idea opens with a challenge, the confrontation with manufacturing, the pleasure of a technical and artisanal implementation, and the desire that this manipulation disappears in a joyful and yet derisory jubilation / Jean Cristofol 2012.
