Julie Balsaux is one of those people who only stand up for themselves because they keep moving forward, acting and inventing, and first and foremost their lives, every day, as if they were under the immediate threat of bottomless despair. Because they have to launch a paper plane against the absurdity of the world, and the world is heavy, it is always a question of tearing themselves off the ground, of creating the momentum of a jump that we would like to last infinitely long. So we are somewhere between the energy of the gesture and the slow movement of the clouds. Drawing, installation, writing, sound proposals, each piece is an attempt to talk about the world while escaping it. Each idea opens with a challenge, the confrontation with manufacturing, the pleasure of a technical and artisanal implementation, and the desire that this manipulation disappears in a joyful and yet derisory jubilation / Jean Cristofol 2012.
