"Rien ne demeure" is an exutory piece in an exchange between the symbolism of the egg, words and the materials that are bronze and patina. The egg, the life to hatch, fragile and delicate. The words inscribed, "Nothing remains" and the bronze which is considered to be "perennial", reliable, solid, almost indestructible. And the patina that changes with time, oxidation, waxing. 11 cm diameter x 10 cm height. Watercolor" patina, shades of green, water green, prussian blue, orange, roses, barley, purple. To highlight the piece and see the patina in all its integrity (as on the photo) it must be exposed to daylight or have appropriate lighting. Using the technique of lost wax, the piece is entirely made by the artist. The modelling, the setting in cluster, the degrappage the completion and the patina.

Julie Balsaux is one of those people who only stand up for themselves because they keep moving forward, acting and inventing, and first and foremost their lives, every day, as if they were under the immediate threat of bottomless despair. Because they have to launch a paper plane against the absurdity of the world, and the world is heavy, it is always a question of tearing themselves off the ground, of creating the momentum of a jump that we would like to last infinitely long. So we are somewhere between the energy of the gesture and the slow movement of the clouds. Drawing, installation, writing, sound proposals, each piece is an attempt to talk about the world while escaping it. Each idea opens with a challenge, the confrontation with manufacturing, the pleasure of a technical and artisanal implementation, and the desire that this manipulation disappears in a joyful and yet derisory jubilation / Jean Cristofol 2012.
