Catherine Fouvry Leblois (also known as CATeF), a sculptor from Normandy, centers her work on movement and body attitude. In bronze, terracotta or clay, her pieces, imbued with gentleness and humanity, can be found on KAZoART and can be found in private collections in France and abroad.
Back to her first love
In 2014, Catherine Fouvry Leblois discovers the work of clay during a modeling workshop. This discovery reconnects her to her artistic aspirations that she had put on hold for more than 20 years.
She then drew a line under her past of service to large companies to finally release the creative energy that had permeated her childhood, whether through drawing, dance or music.
Bringing mind and matter together
In a world that is more and more rapid, pressing, virtual and impalpable, Catherine Fouvry Leblois chooses to settle down to refocus on the essential. The sculptor achieves this by working in a medium that, conversely, requires a slow process of creation.
It is the clay that dictates its rhythm. The works are born in an impulse, from an emotion, from a feeling. The artist works on the line to go to the essential, making dialogue between the spirit and the matter.
